- 12 ounce skinless chicken breast
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons vinegar
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
Cut chicken breast into 4 ounce servings. I used prepackaged/frozen chicken breasts from Costco. Each breast was appromiately 6 ounces and I sliced each in half. This will yield 4 servings.
Place ingredient in crock pot and set crock pot temp on medium setting. Make sure you know how fast or slow your crock pot will cook. I set mine on medium to medium low heat for 3-4 hours.
Occasionally check the meat to be sure the temperature is correct and to recoat the chicken with the BBQ sauce.
There are two options of serving this chicken dish. I have shown option #1.
#1) Remove the breasts from the crock pot and plate whole or slice into smaller pieces.
#2) Use a fork and shred the chicken. This is perfect if you want to do BBQ chicken sandwiches. Once you shred the chicken, drop back into the crock pot and throughly coat with the BBQ sauce.
Whatever method you use, I promise this will be a tasty dish. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
